Summary
hyperthyroidism is excess production of
thyroid_hormones. The most common cause is
Graves_disease. Typical symptoms include
weight_loss,
heat_intolerance,
palpitations,
tremor, anxiety, and
increased_appetite, with possible diarrhea and menstrual_changes. Signs may show warm_moist_skin,
goiter, and eye changes in Graves. Patients often have
tachycardia and nervousness. Labs usually reveal
low_TSH with
high_T3_T4. It is more common in women. A severe complication is
thyroid_storm.
